Welcome to your mental health journey!
My name is Mia Williams and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I earned my Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern Illinois University. I learned early on, while I was a Police Officer (10 years), that I have a strong passion for helping people, especially those who struggle with different life transitions that may affect their mental wellness.
My goal is to provide culturally-affirming therapy services to Black and People of Color communities (B-POC), while specializing in assisting black women who struggle with Superwoman Syndrome/Complex. As a woman of color, I understand the importance of finding a therapist who can relate to and validate lived experiences. My practice is built on creating a safe, authentic, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their mental health complexities and work towards their therapeutic goals. I strongly believe in the saying “it takes a village” so allow me to be a part of your village.
Seeking therapy is not an easy decision for some individuals. My mission is to ensure that active listening, acceptance, confidentiality, collaboration, and encouragement are top priority with clients. Whether you are seeking support for the first time or looking for a therapist who better understands your cultural background, we’re here to support your healing journey. Life can be a difficult journey, but you do not have to go at it alone!!
